Process Of Installing Artificial Grass

artificial grass installation

Artificial grass installation is a fairly simple process that can move pretty quickly once the initial plans are created.

Natural Grass Removed

This first step is probably the scariest for homeowners. All natural grass must be removed before artificial grass installation can continue. Work crews work neatly to remove grass in smaller block segments rather than major demolition work. As the grass squares are removed, they are stacked on pallets to be taken away. In some cases, you may be able to resell high-quality sod to a local dealer or contractor. That could help pay for your artificial grass installation.

The Artificial Grass Production Process

The Artificial Grass Production Process

artificial grass production processMany early models of synthetic grass gained a reputation for discoloration. The vintage artificial grass production process was far less sophisticated than what we have today. Under direct exposure to sunlight, turf fibers begin to discolor at a disconcerting rate. After a couple of years, synthetic turf will look bland and unimpressive. This eventually became the general public’s consensus about artificial turf. Because of this reputation, some people are still skeptical about turf.

Drought Tolerant Artificial Grass’ New Legislation

drought tolerant artificial grassCalifornia’s historic drought has continued for many years now, and many legislators are now looking into updating old laws regarding artificial turf. Historically, installing artificial turf was not always easy for homeowners. There were many provisions surrounding the installation process, and some locales were flat-out banning artificial turf. Metropolitan code, HOAs, as well as various other ways of oversight have protected homeowners. Recently, California State Assembly member Mike Gatto (D-Glendale) has been pushing for drought solutions and water savings. Through Assembly Bill 1164, which declares a state of urgency for the drought, Gatto has sought solutions to this potentially devastating problem. If passed, AB 1164 would forbid a city, or region from passing or implementing any type of statute that forbids the setup of artificial turf on property.
